Augusta National Women's Amateur 2026: Field, format, venue, past winners as future stars gather ahead of The Masters

The biggest amateur stars in women's golf get to test themselves at the home of The Masters this week, with the Augusta National Women's Amateur live on Your Site.

LPGA Tour stars Lottie Woad, Rose Zhang and Jennifer Kupcho are among the past winners of the annual event, which was launched with the intention of having 'a significant and lasting impact on the future of the women's game'.

Forty-eight of the world's top 50 amateur players are scheduled to feature in the 72-player field, where last year's runner-up Asterisk Talley is among the favourites after impressing on the LPGA Tour last week at the Ford Championship.

Women's amateur No 1 Kiara Romero headlines an international field, scheduled to feature players from 23 different countries, with nearly half of the line-up making their maiden appearance at the event.

Patience Rhodes - the younger sister of LPGA Tour regular Mimi Rhodes - is the only Englishwoman in this year's line-up, while Ireland's Beth Coulter and Spain's Paula Martin Sampedro - who finished tied-eighth at the AIG Women's Open last year - are among the other European interests involved.

The first 36 holes are played on the Island and Bluff nines at Champions Retreat Golf Club on Wednesday and Thursday, with the entire field then getting to play a practice round at Augusta National on Friday.

Only the top 30 and ties from the first two days make the cut and get to feature in the final round, which also takes place at Augusta National and on the same course where The Masters will take place the following week.

In the event of a tie after 54 holes, the winner will be decided in a sudden-death playoff.

Reigning champions of the US Women's Amateur, Women's Amateur Championship, Women's Asia-Pacific Amateur champion, R&A Girls' Amateur, the U.S. Girls' Junior, Girls Junior PGA - providing they remain amateur - are all invited.

The NCAA Division One individual champion and the last five winners of the Augusta National Women's Amateur also feature, if they are still amateurs, along with the top 30 American players in the Women's World Amateur Golf Ranking at the end of 2025.

The next 30 highest-ranked players not already qualified at the end of the calendar year also get a spot, with the rest of the field made up by special invitationals from the Augusta National Women's Amateur Committee.

Provided they remain an amateur, the champion will receive an invitation to the next five Augusta National Women's Amateurs.

They also receive invites to four of the five women's majors - the Chevron Championship, US Women's Open, Evian Championship and the AIG Women's Open.

Kupcho was the world's top amateur when she played her final six holes in five under to win the inaugural edition in 2019, while Japan's Tsubasa Kajitani claimed the 2021 edition after the previous year's contest was cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Anna Davis became the youngest champion after winning the 2022 contest as a 16-year-old, before Zhang defeated Jenny Bae in a two-hole play-off in 2023 ahead of featuring in the Solheim Cup later that year.

Woad came back from two behind with five holes to play to snatch a remarkable victory in the 2024 contest, with three birdies in her last four holes seeing her finish one ahead of Bailey Shoemaker.

The Englishwoman finished third in last year's title defence before turning professional later that summer, while Carla Bernat Escuder - who won the 2025 edition - has also left the amateur ranks ahead of her title defence.

Your Site will once again show live coverage from all three rounds, with the action live from 6.30pm on Wednesday and Thursday ahead of the final round being live on Saturday from 5pm on Your Site Golf.

The tournament is one of multiple golf events live on Your Site this week, with the PGA Tour's Valero Texas Open - the last chance to qualify or The Masters - and the Aramco Championship also live on Your Site.

Who will win the Augusta National Women's Amateur? Watch all three rounds live on Your Site. Live coverage begins on Wednesday from 6.30pm on Your Site Golf. or .
